Pre 1900 recovery pine removed from old textile mills. Very hard, dense, tends to reddish or golden in color. We build either solid 3/4" flooring or thick wear layer engineered in this flooring.
Engineered normally three width, 8-6-4.,length heavy to 8' some shorter. Ck for availability and lead times. The engineered wear layer is 5-6 mils, most imports are 1.5-3.0 mils, so our wear layer is at least 2x theirs. Our lumber core engineered is made the same as very expensive european engineered. We can Finish with hard oil for the best looking easiest care floor. We offer this hard oil , a slow to manufacture finish, but looks like hand rubbed wood add $1.50 sq/ft.
A solid recovery pine floor has a lot of defects, only you can determine which ones to cut out. That's why the 20% waste.
Engineered is backed up by a solid core, less waste, but still is a lot more work to install than laminate, since the wood is all reclaimed, over 150 years old.we try to cut out all edge defects, fill others, but you still are working with used wood.. Expect to sort, pick and choose, and fit the planks-the result? A handmade look unmatched by any other specie.It will not exactly match, it won't look like a plastic floor! But you must want a character look floor.
WE cannot build this floor rapidly.. Just finding the wood we need takes time, so you must order early.. WE are still busy, in an extremely depressed market there is a reason!
